Beginning in 1977, Thomas Allen, Inc. was launched by David Peterman, with a vision to expand the opportunities for persons with disabilities to live more independently in the community. A partnership began with James Perron becoming a co-owner in 1984, and Jesse Perron joining in 2017. In January 2023 the two original owners retired, and Jesse Perron and Kari Schuster became partners and co-owners. What Are We Proud Of?
The company responds to changing needs prompted through industry and legislative initiatives, and continues to develop diverse services. The progressive realm of services offered to over 10,000 individuals with disabilities encompass residential and community living services, vocational, sub-contracted Rule 245D services, managed care, case management and relocation services. The primary job requirement for many positions is compassion. Related experience and education are valued, and some positions require one or both -some also require licensure, and others do not. Our large size positions us to offer license supervision for BSW and MSW, and we maintain a thriving internship program.
Students – our available positions and hours often work around class hours while providing work experience. This job experience can support many career choices such as nursing, law enforcement, teaching, social work, dental hygiene, medical fields, speech and language professionals, human services, and other professions that involve working with people.
Additionally, we offer tuition reimbursement to students for related coursework, and our association with Capella University offers tuition discounts and scholarship opportunities for employees and their family members.
